Author Guidelines

Submission formatting, peer review, originality, copyright, publication fees, and manuscript system details for Avestia authors.

Style Guide

Submitted manuscripts can be in Word format (.doc or .docx) or PDF. Each manuscript can be up to 8000 words, which is approximately 12 pages in the template, including images and references.

The first page of the manuscript should clearly display the paper title, full names of the authors, author affiliations, full institutional mailing address, and email address.

For the complete formatting description, authors should use the Manuscript Template (.docx). Papers must comply with the template as a condition of acceptance.

Quality Control and Submission Guide

Avestia is dedicated to maintaining a high scholarly standard for every journal through its editors and reviewers. Submitted manuscripts are single-blind peer reviewed by experts in the relevant field according to the journal scope.

  1. The paper is received and sent to experts for review.
  2. After completed reviews are received, Avestia contacts the author with a decision.
  3. If accepted for revision, the author receives the completed reviews and submits a final draft.
  4. The revised paper may be sent to the original reviewers for final critique and decision.
  5. If recommended for acceptance, Avestia contacts the author with the final decision.
  6. A Word document must be submitted after acceptance so the publisher can prepare proofs for final author review.

Articles are assigned unique DOIs and are published in the latest open volume. One continuous volume is published per year.

Originality and Plagiarism

Papers must be original research or review articles that have not been published or submitted elsewhere for possible publication. Duplicate or plagiarized manuscripts will be retracted immediately.

Plagiarism is presenting someone else's work, in whole or in part, as one's own without proper credit. Avestia does not tolerate plagiarism, malpractice, or misconduct.

Avestia uses Plagiarism Checker X on submissions before review and acceptance, and archives generated reports for future inquiries.

The contact author must submit a copyright form upon acceptance and before publication. The form confirms that the author retains copyright and licenses the article under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License.

Failure to submit the required copyright form may result in retraction of the paper.

Publishing Fees

Avestia Publishing has adopted the open access model for all journals. There is no article submission fee to submit a manuscript for consideration.

Following acceptance, Avestia charges an article processing charge of 900 CAD per article. Canadian residents and Canadian citizens are subject to 13% sales tax; international attendees are exempt. The APC is non-refundable and covers editorial management, peer review, language copy-editing, typesetting, reference validation and linking, plagiarism checking, DOI purchase, indexing submission, and online hosting.
